Job Description:
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional-level IT Program/Project Manager to join Customer Experience and Resource Planning (CERP), a unit within UFIT.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

CERP enables UFIT's goal of enabling teaching, learning, research, and service by informing the university of IT services, support, and systems, conducting year-round feedback and listening programs, serving as campus advocates for enterprise IT improvements, and managing enterprise-wide technology projects for UF.

Job Description:

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Own the full lifecycle of large-scale projects and multi-project programs, including benefits realization tracking and executive steering committee facilitation.
  • Evaluate incoming project requests for strategic fit, conduct feasibility analysis, and make authoritative recommendations on prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with executive stakeholders and business unit heads, translating organizational goals into actionable program scope and deliverables.
  • Mentor and coach IT Project Managers and drive process improvements across UFIT's project management practice.

Expected Salary:
$98,000-$105,000; commensurate based on education and experience

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience, but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Preferred:
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Education and Experience - Ideal candidates bring 5-7+ years of enterprise project/program management experience and hold (or are pursuing) advanced certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or PfMP
  • IT Project Management - Demonstrated ability to independently lead enterprise-wide programs and complex, high-impact projects from initiation through closure, including governance design, benefits realization, and executive reporting.
  • Effective Communications - Proven track record of executive-level communication, translating complex technical initiatives into clear strategic narratives for senior leadership, steering committees, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinking - Ability to evaluate project requests, conduct portfolio-level feasibility analysis, and make authoritative recommendations on prioritization, resource allocation, and program structuring.
  • Interpersonal Relationships - Experience building and maintaining strategic relationships with business unit heads, executive sponsors, and campus partners as a trusted advisor across all organizational levels.
