Advisor - Storage Optimization to support the performance and optimization of U.S. natural gas storage assets. This role works closely with operations, gas control, and commercial teams to ensure storage facilities are operating efficiently while balancing market dynamics, system constraints, and maintenance activities.
This is a fast-paced, operations-focused role where strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills are critical. Daily system changes driven by weather, market conditions, and physical asset performance require continuous monitoring and coordination to maximize storage value.
Key Responsibilities: - Support the optimization of a large natural gas storage portfolio with more than 153 Bcf of capacity and significant annual revenue generation.
- Maintain strong relationships with outage coordinators, gas control room operators, and other stakeholders to coordinate daily capacity, maintenance activities, and outages.
- Act as an intermediary between field operations, capacity planning, gas control, and commercial teams.
- Monitor storage asset performance daily to evaluate injection, withdrawal, and wheeling capabilities.
- Publish operational priorities for gas control teams regarding injection and withdrawal activities.
- Communicate and publish updates related to storage facility outages.
- Approve storage transactions through internal application systems and implement restrictions on customer storage nominations when required.
- Maintain and develop documentation including operating modes, procedures, manuals, and presentations.
- Analyze historical nominations and pressure data to support storage expansion evaluations.
- Provide commercial input during outage planning to minimize operational impact while ensuring safe and efficient project execution.
- Coordinate with gas control, integrity teams, capacity scheduling, and regional teams to maintain accurate outage schedules and communicate impacts to commercial stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications: - 1-3 years of experience in the natural gas industry
- Experience with process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- 1-3 years of data analytics experience, including tools such as: Microsoft Power BI, Get & Transform, SQL queries
