Job Summary
The Senior ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions to improve IT service management and operational efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise in ServiceNow development, configuration, integrations, and automation. The developer will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross-functional groups to translate business requirements into scalable solutions while ensuring platform stability, security, and adherence to best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and implement ServiceNow applications, workflows, and custom solutions.
- Develop and maintain ServiceNow integrations using APIs and other integration technologies.
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Customize ServiceNow modules, applications, workflows, business rules, scripts, and UI components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow platform issues and performance challenges.
- Configure and support ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM capabilities, including Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.
- Develop technical documentation, including system designs, configurations, and user guides.
- Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards and security policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, administrators, and development teams on solution design.
- Mentor junior ServiceNow developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with ServiceNow platform upgrades, features, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration.
- Strong experience with ServiceNow platform customization, configuration, and application development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow scripting.
- Experience working with ServiceNow APIs and integrations.
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and workflows.
- Experience with ServiceNow modules including:
- ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request Management)
- Customer Service Management (CSM/PSDS)
- Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
- Experience with workflow automation and platform optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Preferred Skills
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certifications.
- Experience with ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM).
- Hands-on experience with Service Mapping, Discovery, and Event Management implementations.
- Experience designing enterprise-level ServiceNow solutions.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow platform upgrades, performance optimization, and best practices.
- Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
