OverviewApex Systems is seeking a
Mechanical Engineer - Missile System Design to support a high-visibility aerospace and defense program. This engineer will work within a Mechanical Engineering team to perform design, analysis, testing, and integration activities for missile system hardware. This is a full-time onsite position.
Essential Functions- Perform mechanical analysis, CAD design, and/or mechanical testing of complex materials, structural components, or functional systems for missile platforms.
- Use advanced structural and product design engineering tools along with CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).
- Apply GD&T principles to mechanical designs.
- Adapt or improve heritage/legacy design features using sound engineering principles.
- Develop innovative approaches to engineering challenges and system design.
- Support engineering design, development, analysis, and testing tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and manage test programs to evaluate materials, structural components, or system elements.
- Oversee test activity execution and test article fabrication, including documentation and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver written technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 2+ years of engineering experience,
- OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 1+ year of engineering experience.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on mechanical integration experience (aerospace experience strongly preferred).
- Experience ranging from 3-15 years is highly desired per hiring manager.
