Job Title: Terraform Engineer

Location: Chandler, AZ

Schedule: Standard Time (8 AM - 5 PM Arizona time)

Day to Day:

• As a Terraform Enterprise Platform Engineer, you will help build and enhance an internal infrastructure automation platform.


• This role focuses on developing tools, modules, and automation that enable teams to securely provision infrastructure using Terraform Enterprise.

Core Responsibilities

Terraform Enterprise Platform Development

• Develop and maintain automation capabilities within the Terraform Enterprise (TFE) platform.


• Build reusable Terraform modules that allow internal teams to provision infrastructure in a standardized and secure way.


• Extend Terraform Enterprise functionality to support on-premise infrastructure environments, creating capabilities similar to those available in cloud environments.

API & Platform Integration

• Develop and maintain Java-based APIs that integrate with Terraform Enterprise and related infrastructure tools.


• Build automation services that trigger Terraform workflows, manage infrastructure deployments, and integrate with internal systems.

Infrastructure Automation

• Use Ansible to automate configuration management and support infrastructure provisioning workflows.


• Develop scripts and automation (Python preferred) to streamline platform operations and infrastructure management.

Internal Platform & Developer Experience

• Contribute to internal UI/UX tools or dashboards that help developers and infrastructure teams interact with the Terraform platform.


• Improve the developer experience by simplifying how teams request and deploy infrastructure.

Security & DevSecOps

• Collaborate with security teams to ensure infrastructure provisioning aligns with enterprise security policies.


• Integrate security best practices into Terraform modules and platform workflows.


• Implement guardrails and automation that enforce compliance and secure infrastructure deployments.

Platform Enablement

• Partner with engineering teams to onboard applications and services onto the Terraform Enterprise platform.


• Provide guidance on how to use Terraform modules and infrastructure automation tools effectively.

Ideal Background

• Experience working with Terraform Enterprise (TFE) or large-scale Terraform environments


• Strong experience building Terraform modules and infrastructure automation


• Experience developing Java APIs or backend services


• Experience with Ansible for configuration management


• Scripting or automation experience with Python


• Familiarity with DevOps / platform engineering practices


• Exposure to security or DevSecOps concepts in infrastructure environments

Must Haves:

7 to 10 years of experience

• Terraform Enterprise (TFE) Hands-on experience building and managing infrastructure using Terraform Enterprise, including creating and maintaining Terraform modules.


• Terraform Development Strong experience writing reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules and automating infrastructure provisioning.


• Java API Development Experience developing or integrating Java-based APIs to support infrastructure automation, platform tools, or system integrations.


• Ansible Experience using Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation.


• Platform Engineering / DevOps Experience Experience building or supporting internal automation platforms or infrastructure tooling.


• UI/UX Development Experience Ability to contribute to internal developer tools, dashboards, or interfaces that improve the developer experience interacting with infrastructure platforms.

Plusses:

• Python scripting for automation and tooling.


• Security / DevSecOps experience, especially implementing security best practices within infrastructure automation.


• Experience building on-premise infrastructure automation capabilities similar to those used in cloud environments

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $70 - $75 per hour
  This reflects base compensation and may vary based on candidate qualifications.
