Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software and specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Develop tools for electronics design which span both the desktop and the cloud (C++, Java Javascript). Build distributed, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant system in the cloud (AWS) using Node.js. Develop tools for deploying, running, testing, and monitoring the system and ensure reliable operations at optimal performance with a minimum level of involvement from operations. Architect and build high-performance RESTful services to support our ECAD applications. Build integrations with all manner of 3rd party APIs and tools for best-in-class data management and integration with 3rd party software services from electronics design. Participate in the full development life cycle of the backend solution as well as the client applications. Build complete eCAD design features for the desktop using C++ which span multiple editing environments (Schematic Capture, PCB Layout, Library Development and BOM Management, CAM).

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the U.S. Telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the U.S. Telecommuting is permitted.

Special Requirements: Position requires at least 8 years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Utilize Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal), SQL for MySQL and C/C++ to integrate diverse electronic design data sources, including CAD, BOM, and ERP systems, ensuring data consistency and real-time synchronization across platforms

  • Utilize Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal), C/C++, UML Modeling to develop modular CAD systems allowing for easy extension and customization through plugins or APIs, enhancing system flexibility and adaptability to new technologies

  • Utilize Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal), Visual Component Library, C/C++, MFC to design highly customizable UIs that cater to the specific needs of electronics engineers, including customizable toolbars, panels, and workflows

  • Utilize Jira, Confluence, Github, Excel, UML Modeling to set technical direction and roadmap for CAD, part management, and BOM management tools, aligning with business goals and market trends

  • Utilized Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal), C/C++ to design unified, abstract data models to represent complex electronics components, assemblies, and systems, facilitating interoperability and data exchange

  • Utilize Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal) and SQL for MySQL to design comprehensive component databases, including parametric search, lifecycle status, and alternate part suggestions, enhancing design efficiency

  • Utilize Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal), C++ and C API to design and execute integration plans for acquired technology into existing product ecosystems, ensuring minimal disruption and maximizing value

  • Utilize Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal), C/C++, and expertise of various electronics CAD file formats, including proprietary binary formats, and expertise in developing specifications for translation and interoperability

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $221,187 and $260,000 /year. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
