Cloud Database Engineer

6+ month contract to hire

Hybrid 2-3 days a week (Reading PA)

**Most important skills are Oracle, Postgres and Cloud. NOT looking for ETL or CI/CD.

Position Description:

• Contribute to Oracle implementation efforts, including building new Oracle environments (Oracle AI Database 26) and supporting ongoing enhancements
• Play a key role in large scale on prem database migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime
• Lead data modeling work: create ER diagrams, guide architectural discussions, and maintain strong cross functional visibility
• Within the first 30 60 days, develop a solid understanding of existing applications, database architectures, and environments, then begin collaborating on active projects and operational tasks
• Serve as Level 3 support for high priority database incidents
• Mentor onsite and offshore team members on Cloud Database technologies
• Support and execute major database migrations, including moving databases from cloud environments into Hexadata platforms

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in database technologies
• Strong Oracle Database expertise
• Experience with Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, VMware Postgres, and Red Hat OpenShift based deployments (Oracle and PostgreSQL are primary)
• Cloud experience with OCI (preferred), AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
• Strong relational and dimensional data modeling skills
• Must be able to quickly learn and adapt to many technologies across a wide tech stack
• Strong SQL, PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting skills
• Extensive experience with SQL tools: TOAD, SQL Developer, PGADMIN, DPA, etc.
• Understanding of various databases: PostgreSQL, Neptune, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc. (everything except DB2 in this group)
