The RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer focused on developing our infrastructure platform for Creative Compute & Storage Software Services, you will play a key role in the design and implementation of solutions which improve our ability to manage a worldwide platform in support of cutting-edge creative workflows, enhancing our global control plane, and efficiently orchestrating infrastructure resources to maximize their impact. In this role, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and creative teams to develop world-class studio solutions that power the next generation of content creation.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to work in a wide variety of areas, such as:- Designing orchestration of compute, disk, network, and other resources across globally distributed systems
- Integrating with core Netflix technologies and third-party solutions to deliver a cloud provider for studio needs
- Developing and advancing core VM, container, network, and storage technologies to support complex creative workflows

Required Skills- Have 5+ years of expertise in Go, Java, or similar object-oriented languages, with confidence and experience in debugging and problem-solving skills
- Have a demonstrated history in designing, constructing, and managing large distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance that are spread across multiple global regions and networks
- Have solid experience in setting technical directions for engineering projects, making architectural decisions, and influencing partner and cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Linux and Linux systems programming
- Experience with IaaS providers such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and VMware
Bonus Skills- Proficient with gRPC API design and implementation
- Working experience with Kubernetes and PaaS offerings such as Heroku and CloudFoundry
- Working experience with KVM, QEMU, libvirt, OpenFlow, Open vSwitch
A few more things about us:Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000 - $720,000.
