About this Position / Responsibilities

  • Design and develop enterprise cloud architectures, including compute, network, storage, security, and application integration components.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud architecture documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards to support cloud governance and long-term operational sustainability.
  • Assess existing cloud platforms, services, and configurations and identify opportunities for standardization, modernization, automation, and cost optimization.
  • Develop cloud operational runbooks, architecture artifacts, and support documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and future operational transitions.
  • Create comprehensive cloud infrastructure designs and implementation roadmaps that align with business objectives.
  • Develop cloud governance frameworks, standards, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance, security, cost effectiveness, and operational consistency.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies, architecture patterns, and technology stacks that support innovation and modernization initiatives.
  • Develop cloud architecture and operational documentation that enables transition of cloud support responsibilities to future contracts, managed service providers, or personnel.
  • Implement, configure, and deploy cloud environments across enterprise platforms.
  • Lead migration efforts for existing applications, services, and data into cloud-based environments.
  • Document current-state and future-state cloud environments, including dependencies, integrations, security controls, governance processes, and operational procedures.
  • Integrate cloud-native services, including application services, serverless functions, containers, microservices, data orchestration tools, storage platforms, and cloud policy frameworks.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, scalability, and security to ensure optimal operations.
  • Develop and implement cloud cost management strategies and resource optimization practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure, application, and integration issues.
  • Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and network engineers to support cloud-based solutions and enterprise initiatives.
  • Coordinate software and infrastructure requirements with development teams to ensure successful deployment and operations.
  • Develop current-state ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") cloud architecture documentation, including technical diagrams, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Create architecture visualizations and technical documentation utilizing Microsoft Visio or similar modeling and visualization platforms.
  • Develop cloud performance, utilization, and cost management dashboards using Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the design, implementation, and operational lifecycle of cloud initiatives.
  • Analyze enterprise technology requirements and recommend solutions that support long-term strategic goals.
  • Support enterprise architecture governance processes and alignment with IT roadmaps and modernization strategies.

Develop and maintain the following work products:
  • Cloud architecture diagrams and technical designs.
  • Current-state ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") architecture documentation.
  • Cloud governance standards, policies, and best-practice recommendations.
  • Cloud migration assessments and implementation recommendations.
  • Cloud infrastructure inventories and configuration documentation.
  • Cloud operational procedures and technical runbooks.
  • Cloud performance, utilization, and cost optimization dashboards.
  • Cloud security and compliance assessment documentation.
  • Architecture review findings and recommendations.
  • Knowledge transfer materials and technical documentation supporting continuity of operations and future transition activities.

Qualifications

  • Required 15 Years - At least 15 years of relevant experience in design, development, and implementation of information technology infrastructure.
  • Required 15 Years - 5 years specifically in enterprise cloud architecture.
  • Required 5 Years - Experience with aligning cloud strategies and technologies with enterprise architecture standards and IT roadmap.
  • Required 5 Years - Creating comprehensive cloud architectures, including network layouts, storage solutions, and computation of resources.
  • Required 5 Years - Experience developing visual dashboards of relevant raw data to support cost management with Power BI or other data visualization platform.
  • Required 5 Years - Experience in the transit industry
  • Required 3 Years - Experience implementing architectural patterns and designs for data analytics applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • AWS Certification (Highly Desired)
