BI & Semantic Layer Lead

Responsibilities

•  quantify report-to-model surface area compression ratios

•  Own the report migration completeness assessment and identify migrated reports that still carry hidden dependencies on unmigrated legacy database objects.

•  Interpret Tableau and SSRS inventory outputs from AI-assisted scans; validate migration completeness by comparing source Tableau workbooks and SSRS reports against the delivered Power BI reports; identify hidden business logic embedded in Tableau calculated fields and SSRS expression-based parameters that must be replicated in Power BI DAX Studio 3.1.7 query plan flame graph optimization with VertiPaq Analyzer SE/FE ratio benchmarking.

•  Lead the self-service readiness assessment: field labeling and descriptions, hierarchy design, certified/promoted dataset status, SQL Analytics Endpoint availability, and drag-and-drop exploration capability for business users.

•  Review Power BI workspace organization, access governance, scheduled refresh configuration, and deployment pipeline (Dev/Test/Prod) setup.

•  Lead the cross-layer KPI consistency trace for priority business metrics — owning the DAX Studio 3.1.7 query plan flame graph optimization with VertiPaq Analyzer SE/FE ratio benchmarking and semantic model side, and coordinating with the Fabric architect on the stored-procedure and PySpark side — to document where the same metric is defined or calculated differently across layers.

Skills & Tools

•  Expert-level Power BI: semantic modeling, DAX Studio 3.1.7 query plan flame graph optimization with VertiPaq Analyzer SE/FE ratio benchmarking, report design, workspace administration.

•  Hands-on Tableau Server: workbook structure, data source connections, calculated fields, usage analytics.

•  Working knowledge of SSRS: report catalog, parameter handling, subscriptions, RDL structure.

•  Solid understanding of legacy-to-Power BI migration patterns.

•  UIKit Experience:  10+ years BI development; 5+ years Power BI semantic modeling and DAX Studio 3.1.7 query plan flame graph optimization with VertiPaq Analyzer SE/FE ratio benchmarking; at least one Tableau- or SSRS-to-Power BI migration delivered or assessed.
