This is a high-priority, executive-visible Lead Software Engineer opportunity supporting Digital Banking Transformation While the formal job description emphasizes full-stack engineering, the hiring manager made it clear that the real hiring need is a senior technical leader with significant data conversion and legacy modernization experience within a large enterprise banking environment.
The ideal candidate will combine:
- Java and Spring Boot expertise
- Large-scale customer/data conversion experience
- Legacy and mainframe data knowledge
- API and integration architecture experience
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- Technical leadership without direct people management responsibilities
This individual will operate as a hands-on technical lead (approximately 80% coding) while helping drive one of the bank's most visible modernization programs. They will work across 30+ teams and multiple banking platforms, coordinating migration efforts as customers are moved from legacy systems to next-generation digital banking platform.
