Data Engineer (Python/ Pandas/ AWS Lambda/ Glue)

Resource 1 is in need of 2 Data Engineers with 3-5 years of experience for remote contracts with our client in the Healthcare industry. The initial contracts are for 3 months with the possibility for extensions. The Data Engineers should have hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, SQL, and AWS (Lambda/ Glue).  The role involves working from defined Jira requirements, reviewing and modifying existing/ AI-generated Python code, validating data outputs, and testing solutions. Individuals will work with the current team of AWS Data Engineers, leveraging their home-grown Agentic AI generator tool, to build data pipelines ingesting files from TPAs and producing outbound deliverables. Primary impact will be accelerating and validating outbound code generation using an internal agentic AI tool that generates Python/SQL code, while ensuring data quality. The role is fully remote (US) and requires close collaboration with clients and the internal data engineering team.

Responsibilities:

·  Ingest, parse, and transform inbound files in multiple formats (CSV, fixed-width, 834, etc.).

·  Develop, edit, and maintain AWS Lambda-based functions using Python and Pandas.

·  Review SQL queries against Amazon Redshift to validate data for outbound reports.

·  Use internal agentic AI outbound-generator tool to review code and produce final files.

·  Validate and verify generated files against mapping specifications and Jira tickets.

·  Implement targeted changes during client implementations and support existing pipelines.

·  Follow CI/CD, pull request review, and deployment processes across dev, pre-prod, and production environments.

·  Collaborate with product stakeholders and Sr. Data Engineers via Jira to clarify requirements and obtain validations.

·  Execute testing in staging environments, remediate issues, and iterate until operations approves deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience:

·  Strong Python proficiency with hands-on experience using Pandas for data transformations.

·  Proficient in SQL and experience querying Amazon Redshift or similar columnar databases.

·  Experience building and maintaining AWS Lambda functions and knowledge of AWS S3.

·  Familiarity with multiple incoming file formats (CSV, fixed-width, 834) and file parsing techniques.

·  Understanding of ETL patterns, data validation, and producing bespoke outbound reports.

·  Comfortable working in CI/CD workflows and following deployment pipelines.

·  Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with operations and stakeholders.

Plusses:

·  Experience with PySpark for larger or more complex data processing tasks.

·  Previous healthcare PBM, TPA, or claims processing experience.

·  Experience working with agentic AI or code-generation tools to accelerate data engineering tasks.
