We are seeking an experienced SAP PS Functional Consultant for an SAP ECC carve-out project. The consultant will be responsible for mapping, migrating, and validating active and historical/closed project data, managing its deep integration with SAP CO, and providing functional guidance across SD and MM touchpoints.
This role is also responsible for understanding business requirements, performing configuration as needed, defining the test strategy and test plan, executing System Integration Testing (SIT), supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and assisting with cutover planning, production deployment, and hypercare support as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Carve-Out Scope:
- Data Mapping: Identify, isolate, and map SAP PS data objects, including WBS structures, networks, milestones, and activities, belonging to the carved-out company codes.
- Understand business requirements, design appropriate solutions, perform configuration as needed, and deliver solutions according to project requirements.
- Closed Project Strategy: Collaborate with Data and ABAP leads to define business logic for migrating historical, closed, and fully settled projects into the target system while maintaining historical integrity.
- Define data segregation criteria to separate and migrate open transactional data as required for the carved-out company codes.
- Deep CO Integration: Manage and validate the integration between SAP PS and Controlling (CO), focusing on project cost objects, budgeting, internal orders, results analysis (RA), settlement profiles, and related areas as required.
- Cross-Module Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to functional teams and business users regarding PS touchpoints with Finance (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Materials Management (MM).
Testing & Validation:
- Partner with the Test Lead to design detailed test scenarios and review test scripts.
- Execute Unit Testing (UT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as required for the carve-out project.
- Validate both historical data and open transactional data migration.
- Ensure migrated data is accurate, complete, and aligned with business and financial requirements.
Cutover, Production Deployment & Hypercare:
- Collaborate with functional, technical, and integration teams to plan and execute cutover activities.
- Participate in mock loads, dress rehearsals, and cutover planning.
- Help finalize the cutover runbook and ensure all activities are properly coordinated.
- Support production cutover and deployment activities.
- Provide hypercare support following production deployment as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 6+ years of functional consulting experience in SAP PS (Project Systems), preferably with experience in SAP carve-outs or company code splits.
- Historical Data Migration: Familiarity with writing functional specifications for custom ABAP extraction reports or data migration routines.
- Experience managing or validating the migration of closed/completed operational data and understanding its downstream financial impacts.
- FICO Integration Expertise: Strong understanding of SAP PS integration with SAP FI and CO, particularly WBS element settlements to cost centers, profitability segments, assets, and other relevant objects.
- SAP Integration: Experience guiding business users through SAP PS integration with SD and MM.
- SAP ECC Environment: Strong functional expertise in SAP ECC 6.0, including standard configuration, tables, and standard migration methodologies such as LSMW.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on configuration experience or functional familiarity with SAP CO modules, including:
- Cost Center Accounting (CCA)
- Profit Center Accounting (PCA)
- Internal Orders
- Experience using automated data reconciliation tools to accelerate business validation and sign-off.
