Preface
The architectural integrity of global investment and technology research relies on the seamless convergence of Machine Learning Systems and rigorous computational execution. Within this domain, where the synthesis of complex data and high-performance systems is the primary objective, the necessity for first-principles mastery extends beyond the laboratory and into the operational nucleus of the organization.
StaffRight Associates is seeking an elite professional to join the Interdisciplinary Research and Engineering team at a world-class firm dedicated to the advancement of computational excellence. This role demands a candidate who possesses the intellectual pedigree required to navigate the complex challenges of a research-intensive environment. By bridging specialized technical awareness with proactive problem-solving, the successful candidate will ensure the structural alignment of the firm’s strategic mission with its technical execution.
The Mission
StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Large Language Model (LLM) Researcher and Engineer. In this role, you will serve as a vital catalyst within a premier organization. The mission is to decouple systemic friction from analytical progress, allowing the firm’s leadership to maintain a singular focus on the acceleration of Molecular Science, Biomolecular Simulation, and Drug Discovery. You will be tasked with the sophisticated management of Foundational LLM Research and Large-Scale Multimodal Training, transforming abstract organizational needs into formalized, actionable results. This role requires a high degree of technical literacy to effectively support a team leveraging proprietary architectures and sophisticated algorithms to revolutionize Targeted Drug Design and Atomic-Level Molecular Dynamics.
Core Technical Objectives
Orchestrate Systemic Workflows: Scale and optimize large model training and inference workflows on cutting-edge, proprietary infrastructure (including supercomputers and high-speed commodity hardware).
Synthesize Complex Data: Architect robust pre-training methodologies, including the design of distributed/parallel training frameworks and advanced data pipelines.
Optimize Operational Frameworks: Deploy sophisticated post-training techniques—such as reinforcement learning, contrastive learning, and instruction tuning—to maximize model accuracy and systemic alignment.
Engineer Multi-Project Solutions: Innovate within multimodal learning environments, seamlessly integrating non-text modalities (e.g., molecular graphs, 3D structures, and time series) into unified architectures.
Facilitate Elite Communication: Serve as a discreet and articulate interface between the interdisciplinary technical committee and internal/external scientific stakeholders, maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity.
Candidate DNA
Architectural Philosophy: A mindset rooted in efficiency and resilience, with the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, hybrid work environment (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) while driving autonomous progress.
Resourceful Problem-Solving: A proven track record of breakthrough innovation in machine learning, demonstrating the ability to independently anticipate and resolve training or inference bottlenecks.
Communication Precision: Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by clarity, discretion, and the ability to collaborate productively with elite scientific, computational, and business minds.
Functional Versatility: A generalist mindset fueled by intense intellectual curiosity, capable of pivoting smoothly between rigorous systems execution and abstract algorithmic inquiry within a high-performance ecosystem.
Academic & Research Pedigree
Educational Foundation: An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred) within a STEM discipline—specifically Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
Domain Expertise: Deep technical mastery of large-scale machine learning systems, LLM architectures, distributed training, and python-driven Python programming infrastructure.
Quantitative Literacy: An impressive record of academic or professional achievement, demonstrating comfort with the mathematical, physical, and computational rigor inherent in a firm focused on supercomputing and atomic-level simulation.
Compensation & Structure
Base Salary Range: $450,000 – $1,000,000 * (Determined by experience and educational background)*
Total Rewards: Sign-on and year-end bonuses, generous benefits, relocation assistance, and immigration sponsorship.
Location Framework: Hybrid schedule based out of New York City (Tuesday–Thursday in-office; Monday/Friday remote optional).
