We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for the operational stability, performance optimization, security, and lifecycle management of Microsoft SQL Server environments. This role will ensure high availability, data integrity, and optimal database performance while supporting mission-critical business applications across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong operational DBA expertise with performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and proactive capacity management.

• Configure, administer, and maintain SQL Server instances across environments.

• Provision, deploy, and decommission databases following organizational standards.

• Manage SQL Server patching, service packs, and cumulative updates.

• Administer and monitor SQL Agent jobs and scheduled maintenance processes.

• Perform index maintenance and statistics management to maintain optimal performance.

• Execute DBCC integrity checks to ensure database health and consistency.

• Monitor and manage transaction logs and storage utilization.

• Perform advanced query performance tuning and optimization.

• Analyze execution plans and recommend performance improvements.

• Design and maintain effective indexing strategies.

• Diagnose and resolve blocking, deadlocks, and concurrency issues.

• Optimize TempDB configuration and usage.

• Monitor workloads and recommend right-sizing and performance improvements.

• Design, implement, and validate database backup strategies.

• Manage full, differential, and transaction log backups.

• Conduct backup verification and regular restore testing.

• Support point-in-time recovery requirements.

• Administer Azure Backup policies where applicable.

• Participate in periodic disaster recovery (DR) simulation exercises.

• Implement and support AlwaysOn Availability Groups.

• Maintain log shipping configurations.

• Support SQL Server failover clustering environments.

• Manage geo-replication for Azure SQL deployments.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery runbooks and procedures.

• Implement role-based access controls and permission management.

• Configure encryption including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and SSL.

• Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.

• Configure database auditing and compliance monitoring.

• Ensure adherence to security patching and compliance standards.

• Perform database growth forecasting and capacity planning.

• Manage storage allocation and long-term scalability strategies.

• Develop archival and data retention strategies.

• Provide database version upgrade recommendations and execution support.

• Lead end-of-life planning and modernization initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

• 4+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.

• Strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and HA/DR solutions.

• Advanced T-SQL knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience supporting production enterprise database environments.

• Strong documentation and communication skills.

• Experience with Azure SQL / Cloud database platforms.

• PowerShell or automation scripting experience.

• Experience supporting large-scale or high-transaction systems.

• Microsoft SQL Server or Azure certifications.

• Exposure to DevOps or CI/CD database deployment practices.
