Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

I hope you're doing well. My name is Srikanth, and I'm a Senior Technical Recruiter at Software People Inc. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer position located in Richmond, VA (Hybrid), and I believe your experience could be a great fit for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cybersecurity efforts to assist the CIO in planning and implementing initiatives, managing vulnerabilities, security operations, and incidents across the IT team.
• Respond to threats, ensure compliance, and manage security threats with ITD and IS professionals.
• Oversee the daily management of security activities alongside IS and IT teams, including regular reporting to the CIO.
• Monitor events, logs, and anomalies, and assist in managing future architecture designs to ensure data capture is sufficient for monitoring security.
• Oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC), including security monitoring tools and managing staff.

While a CISSP or CISM certification would be beneficial, they are not mandatory for the role.

This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with an open rate.
