Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Architect to lead assessment, design, and initial implementation efforts for a VCF environment. This role will begin with a strategic and advisory focus—providing assessments, recommendations, and education—and will evolve into delivering High-Level Design (HLD) and implementation support for VCF 9.0.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware technologies, cloud infrastructure architecture, and hands-on experience deploying and optimizing VCF environments in enterprise settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a VCF Architect/SME, providing strategic guidance, assessment, and technical leadership
- Engage with stakeholders to evaluate current infrastructure and define VCF adoption roadmap
- Deliver solutions using Agile methodology

VCF Deployment & Architecture
- Design and deploy VCF 9.0 Management Domain, including:
- VMware vCenter Server
- NSX Manager
- Identity Manager
- VCF Operations Manager
- Other core components
- Develop High-Level Design (HLD) for VCF architecture (including fleet-level design)

Workload & Infrastructure Setup
- Deploy initial Workload Domain to support migration of workloads into VCF
- Support onboarding and migration strategies for existing environments

Operations & Optimization
- Implement and configure VCF Operations (replacement for Turbonomic):
- Capacity and utilization dashboards
- VM rightsizing recommendations
- Cost, chargeback, and showback reporting

Networking (NSX)
- Deploy and configure NSX Edge Cluster:
- Routing and connectivity
- Initial VPC/network design

Integration & Monitoring
- Integrate external vCenters into VCF Operations for unified monitoring of on-prem workloads

Documentation
- Create and deliver comprehensive documentation for:
- VCF Management Domain
- Operations dashboards
- NSX Edge deployment and architecture
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture and deployment
- Hands-on expertise with:
- VMware vCenter Server
- VMware NSX
- VMware Aria Operations / vRealize Operations (VCF Operations)
- Experience designing and delivering HLD (High-Level Design) documents
- Solid understanding of:
- Cloud infrastructure and virtualization
- Networking concepts (routing, switching, overlays)
- Workload migration strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VCF 9.x implementations
- Background in semiconductor or highly regulated enterprise environments
- Familiarity with Turbonomic or similar optimization tools
- Experience working in Agile delivery models
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
