IT Infrastructure Operations Manager
Primary Purpose
The IT Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization s
core IT infrastructure is stable, secure, scalable, and continuously available. This role
manages daily infrastructure operations across servers, networks, storage, on-premises data
centers, endpoints, backups, monitoring, and operational support teams. Also, his main role
focuses on cloud infrastructure operations, governance, automation, cost control, resilience,
and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations Management
Manage day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure services.
Ensure high availability of servers, networks, storage, systems, and enterprise
platforms.
Oversee infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and reliability.
Maintain operational standards for physical, virtual, and hybrid environments.
Ensure infrastructure services meet business uptime and performance requirements.
Manage daily operations of Azure cloud services and workloads.
Ensure Azure resources are available, secure, optimized, and properly governed.
Oversee Azure subscriptions, management groups, resource groups, and cloud
environments.
Maintain operational standards for IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring, and
backup services.
Support production workloads hosted in Azure.
Azure Cloud Operations, IT Infrastructure Operations, Server, Network,
Systems Management
Oversee Azure VMs and On-Premises Windows server administration.
Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
Ensure proper operation of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services,
and core enterprise systems.
Coordinate with network teams for LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, firewall, and internet
connectivity.
Ensure proper patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
Manage Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Key
Vaults, Azure Kubernetes Service, and related services.
Oversee Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN
Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and Application Gateway.
Ensure Azure resource configurations follow architecture, security, and compliance
standards.
Manage hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure.
Team Leadership
Manage infrastructure engineers, system administrators, network engineers, and
support staff.
Assign work, set priorities, and monitor team performance.
Provide technical guidance and escalation support.
Develop team skills through training, documentation, and mentoring.
Ensure operational coverage and support schedules are properly maintained.
