Software Engineer
Location: Onsite - Burnsville, MN (5 days per week, no remote/hybrid)
Employment Type: Direct Hire (W2 only - no C2C or third party vendors at this time)
Compensation:
This position offers an annual salary range of $70,000-$100,000, based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This range represents a good faith estimate for this role. The position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, life insurance, and retirement benefits.
Position Summary
The Software Engineer will support the development and integration of a capital equipment software platform and related systems in a highly collaborative, onsite environment. This role will contribute to feature development, system integration, debugging, and testing activities while adhering to established Quality System requirements and environmental, health, and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enhance software features for core applications and related components
- Debug and resolve software issues across multiple systems
- Support system integration efforts with internal and external platforms
- Write maintainable, well documented, and testable code
- Participate in technical design discussions and peer code reviews
- Support verification and validation activities, including unit, integration, and system level testing
- Contribute to technical and support documentation in documentation heavy development environments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional software development experience (or equivalent internship/co op experience)
- Experience with object oriented programming languages such as C# or Java
- Exposure to or interest in 3D visualization frameworks (e.g., Babylon.js or similar)
- Familiarity with software development best practices (version control, debugging, code reviews)
- Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
Technical Skills / Technology Stack
- Programming Languages: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript
- Frameworks & Tools: Babylon.js or comparable 3D visualization frameworks
- Version Control: GitHub
- DevOps / CI/CD: Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools
- Development Practices: Debugging tools, testing frameworks, and peer code reviews
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with distributed systems or regulated software environments (nice to have)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and modern debugging tools
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills
Working Conditions
- Light physical work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force
- Requires near vision (20 inches or less) and ability to distinguish colors
- Frequent use of hands for repetitive motion, along with speaking and hearing
- Approximately 85% of the role involves working at a computer
- Fast paced environment with deadlines and changing priorities
