Overview

In this contingent role, you will support complex, high-impact software engineering initiatives and contribute to large-scale data engineering solutions. You will analyze multifaceted technical challenges, evaluate diverse business and technical factors, and provide expert guidance to stakeholders. You will partner closely with client teams to drive strategic decision-making, ensure alignment with architectural standards, and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines for both batch and real-time data processing.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting analytics, reporting, and downstream applications using open-source frameworks and cloud-native technologies.
  • Implement operational and analytical data stores leveraging Delta Lake and modern database concepts.
  • Optimize data models and data structures for high performance, scalability, and reliability across large, complex datasets.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with target-state data and platform architecture.
  • Apply best-practice standards for data governance, lineage, and metadata management, including integration with Google Dataplex for centralized oversight and data quality enforcement.
  • Design, orchestrate, and manage advanced workflow automation using Apache Airflow, including development of robust, maintainable DAGs.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in data pipelines, ensuring high availability, reliability, and adherence to operational SLAs.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, demonstrated through professional work, consulting engagements, training, military service, or related education.
