Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: 6+ month

Position Summary

The Data Architect II will serve as the primary technical resource responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Human Resources (HR) data stack. This role will provide dedicated data architecture and development support for HR-related requirements, including ongoing development needs associated with CPA as the agency begins participating in ADDA.

The position will provide specialized expertise focused exclusively on HR data, ensuring that HR data assets are reliable, scalable, secure, well-structured, and sustainable over the long term. The Data Architect II will be responsible for building and maintaining HR data tables, supporting data integration and transformation needs, and partnering with HR and technical stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary developer and technical owner for the HR data stack.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize HR data tables, data structures, and related data assets.
  • Develop scalable and sustainable data solutions that support current and future HR reporting, analytics, and business requirements.
  • Provide dedicated technical support for HR development needs related to CPA and ADDA implementation and ongoing participation.
  • Analyze HR data requirements and translate business needs into effective technical and data architecture solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, transformations, integrations, and data models supporting HR systems and processes.
  • Ensure HR data is accurate, consistent, accessible, and appropriately structured for downstream reporting and analytics.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of HR data solutions.
  • Establish and maintain data architecture standards, development practices, documentation, and technical processes for HR data.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders, data teams, application developers, analysts, and other technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolution for production and development needs.
  • Support data governance, security, privacy, and compliance requirements applicable to HR data.
  • Document data structures, workflows, integrations, dependencies, and technical solutions to ensure long-term maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR data architecture, automation, performance, and overall data quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise related to the continued evolution of the HR data environment within ADDA.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in data architecture, data engineering, database development, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience designing and developing relational databases and data models.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integrations.
  • Strong SQL development and database optimization skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise data environments and complex data structures.
  • Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with HR or workforce-related data.
  • Experience with CPA and/or ADDA environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise HR systems and integrations.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, security, and privacy practices for sensitive employee data.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience developing solutions that support reporting and analytics requirements.

Position Impact

The Data Architect II will provide a dedicated and specialized resource for the organization's HR data environment. By establishing clear technical ownership of HR data architecture and development, this position will support the reliability, scalability, maintainability, and long-term sustainability of HR data within ADDA.

The role will also help ensure that HR has consistent technical support as the agency expands its participation in ADDA, while providing the expertise necessary to continuously improve and optimize the HR data ecosystem
