Job Description
We are seeking a MongoDB Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, operating, and optimizing highly scalable, distributed MongoDB environments and a proven ability to deliver high availability, performance, security, and automation for mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain MongoDB production environments to ensure availability, scalability, and reliability.
- Design and implement sharded clusters and replica sets for horizontal scalability and fault tolerance.
- Define efficient data models and schema designs aligned to application requirements and performance goals.
- Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
- Monitor systems and conduct capacity planning to support growth and workload changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, replication errors, and production incidents with minimal downtime.
- Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Implement and manage security controls, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
- Develop and maintain automation using Python and Bash for maintenance, backups, and monitoring.
- Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and cluster expansions with limited production impact.
- Collaborate with application and DevOps teams on database requirements, deployments, and issue resolution.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and best practices for database operations and governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in MongoDB administration, including sharding, replication, and clustering on Linux/Unix.
- Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Automation skills with Python and Shell scripting (Bash).
- Experience implementing security controls, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution abilities in enterprise production environments.
- Proficiency with productivity software, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MySQL administration as a complementary skill.
- Familiarity with high availability architectures and DevOps collaboration.

- Hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite.
