Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) KC-46 Tanker Program is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and inclusive Aerial Refueling Systems Integration Engineers to join the KC-46 Aerial Refueling Systems team in Everett, WA.
The Boeing KC-46 "Pegasus" is the U.S. Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft of choice, designed to support multi-role missions which include air-to-air refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and aeromedical evacuation. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing commercial 767 and modified to U.S. Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling. With over 100 in service globally, and more in production, the KC-46A offers unrivaled interoperability for mission success. In addition to refueling support, the KC-46A delivers combat capability and data necessary in a multi-mission tanker for the 21st century warfighter.
At Boeing, our Aerial Refueling Systems Integration Engineers are responsible for all aspects of the aerial refueling system integration, including the design/architecture, build integration and production support, lab/aircraft testing, airworthiness certification, and new business proposals.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, demonstrates curiosity and a learning mindset, has previous experience in Systems Engineering, and has proven ability to lead cross functional teams through complex technical issues.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Aerial Refueling Systems Engineers. Responsibilities of a successful candidate will include the following:
Develop, document and maintain system requirements according to airworthiness regulatory, customer, and contract requirements.
Design hardware, software and interface specifications.
Analyze, translate and implement requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies.
Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry from an accredited university
9+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace or similar industry
5+ years in Systems Engineering or Design Engineering (e.g. Systems, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion, Safety)
Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles (e.g. requirements, development assurance, and/or functional integration)
Current holder, or possess ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Familiarity with model-based system engineering (MBSE) development practices
Familiarity with data processing tools such as MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages
Familiarity with computer-aided-design applications such as CATIA or Solidworks
