Job Description:

Job Title: Cybersecurity Project Manager

Duration: 6 month contract, likely to extend another 6 months

Location: Fully Remote; EST hours preferred

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead and drive cybersecurity initiatives that support and modernize security operations. This role is for a hands-on, execution-focused PM who can take ownership of complex projects, organize ambiguity, and proactively drive work forward-not an order taker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and lead cybersecurity projects from planning through execution.
  • Drive initiatives such as:
    • Redesigning and realigning the Security Operations Center, including staffing models, operating models, SOC documentation, and managed service provider coordination.
    • Evaluating and implementing cybersecurity tools, including vendor coordination, procurement, approvals, and proof-of-concept activities.
    • Leading large-scale security initiatives (e.g., web application and server scanning) by facilitating roadmaps, tools, and staffing alignment.
  • Coordinate across cybersecurity, IT, procurement, HR, architecture, compliance, and external vendors.
  • Proactively manage timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements
  • Proven Project Manager with experience leading technology or cybersecurity-related projects.
  • Strong driver and leader who takes control of work and execution without needing direction.
  • Highly organized, quick to understand complex environments, and comfortable jumping in.
  • Technical background sufficient to understand cybersecurity concepts and environments (not a deep technical expert).
  • Self-starter with a balance of strong PM discipline and hands-on execution.
