Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Service & Warranty Lead to drive the design, leadership, and delivery of enterprise-grade after-sales service and warranty solutions for a leading automotive organization.
This role will serve as the functional authority for Service Operations, Warranty Management, Recall Processing, and After-Sales transformation initiatives across SAP S/4HANA environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAP Service Management, Warranty processes, dealer ecosystems, and automotive after-sales operations.
The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP technical teams, system integrators, and enterprise architecture groups to deliver scalable, compliant, and customer-centric service solutions.
Important Environment Details
- Warranty claim adjudication is performed directly in SAP as the system of record.
- Client does NOT use SAP FSM or SAP CEC.
- Salesforce Service Cloud and Salesforce Field Service are used as the strategic front-end for company-owned Service Centers.
- A custom Full Stack portal is being built for global importer and authorized repairer partners.
- SAP S/4HANA will integrate with external platforms through Workato middleware to support global after-sales business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Leadership & Architecture
- Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Service and Warranty solution architecture aligned with automotive best practices.
- Define scalable target-state architectures leveraging:
- SAP S/4HANA Embedded Service Management
- SAP CS / SD Service
- SAP Warranty Management
- Integration with SAP MM, PM/EAM, FI/CO, CRM, and external service platforms
- Conduct fit-gap workshops and solution design sessions with business stakeholders.
- Drive architectural decisions across service operations and warranty ecosystems.
Business Process Ownership
- Lead and optimize automotive after-sales and warranty processes including:
- Warranty claim adjudication
- Vehicle and parts warranty tracking
- Labor operations and failure code management
- Recall campaigns and goodwill handling
- Service order processing and billing
- Align regional and global service models while supporting localization requirements.
- Translate business strategy into SAP roadmaps and scalable enterprise solutions.
Program Delivery & Integration
- Lead functional configuration, design validation, and solution reviews throughout Explore, Realize, and Deploy phases.
- Ensure seamless integration across:
- Vehicle Master & VIN management
- Parts logistics and inventory
- Financial settlement and accrual processing
- Dealer and repair partner ecosystems
- Support SIT/UAT testing, cutover planning, deployment readiness, and production stabilization.
- Enforce SAP governance, compliance, and automotive process standards.
Stakeholder Leadership
- Partner closely with:
- After-Sales Operations
- Engineering & Quality teams
- Finance & Controlling
- Dealer Network Operations
- Business Transformation teams
- Provide executive-level communication, advisory support, and mentorship to functional teams.

- 4 days onsite presence in Newark, CA is mandatory.
