Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Expert to join our team on a contract basis to support our client's SharePoint environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, customizing, and administering SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365) solutions, with a strong background in governance, workflow automation, and end-user adoption. This role will focus on optimizing our existing SharePoint sites, implementing best practices, and delivering solutions that improve collaboration, document management, and business process efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess and analyze the current SharePoint environment, identify areas for improvement, and develop an implementation plan.
- Design, configure, and deploy SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, and pages tailored to business requirements.
- Develop and implement governance policies, permission structures, and content lifecycle management strategies.
- Create and customize workflows, forms, and automation using Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Migrate content and data from existing repositories or legacy systems to SharePoint Online with minimal downtime.
- Provide best practice recommendations for document management, metadata, version control, and search optimization.
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Train end-users and create documentation to support adoption and ongoing use of SharePoint solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform site maintenance, and coordinate with Microsoft support when necessary.
- 5+ years of experience in SharePoint (with a strong focus on SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365).
- Proven track record in SharePoint site architecture, customization, and administration.
- Proficiency in Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint security and permission management.
- Experience with data migration to SharePoint Online.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams integration and OneDrive for Business.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a contractor capacity.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of Power Automate/Power BI
- SharePoint Governance
- Knowledge of using SharePoint as an Intranet
- Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) development.
- Knowledge of JSON, JavaScript, and REST APIs for SharePoint customization.
- Background in compliance/governance for regulated industries (e.g., defense, finance, healthcare).
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
- Experience with data migration from on prem file server to SharePoint environments.
- High likelihood of contract extensions and potential for permanent conversion
