Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS400/iSeries Developer to support application development and production support for retail business applications. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining applications using RPG technologies on the IBM i (AS400) platform, collaborating with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities
Analyze, develop, and maintain AS400/iSeries applications using RPG, RPGLE, ILE RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CLP/CLLE.
Design, modify, and optimize complex SQL queries, embedded SQL, cursors, and stored procedures.
Create and maintain database objects including Physical Files, Logical Files, SQL Tables, Indexes, and Views.
Develop and support Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer Files.
Analyze business requirements, document business rules, and create data mapping documents.
Develop ILE components such as modules, service programs, and binding directories.
Perform code reviews, unit testing, defect resolution, and production support activities.
Work with MQ, MQ Triggers, XML integration, and job scheduling processes.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and client stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Participate in deployment, release planning, and on-call support activities.
Required Skills
Strong experience in AS400/iSeries Development.
Expertise in RPG, RPGLE, ILE RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CLP/CLLE.
Strong SQL knowledge including complex queries, embedded SQL, cursor programming, and stored procedures.
Experience with DB2/AS400 database concepts, Physical/Logical Files, SQL Tables, Views, and Indexes.
Knowledge of Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer Files.
Experience with ILE programming concepts (Modules, Service Programs, Binding Directories).
Working knowledge of MQ, MQ Triggers, and XML integration in RPG.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
Turnover or MDCMS configuration management tools.
X-Analysis cross-reference tool.
ROBOT Job Scheduler.
iSeries Navigator performance analysis.
Database modeling concepts (Normalized/Denormalized Tables, Star Schema).
Retail domain experience (Merchandising, Warehouse Management, Distribution).
Experience
8+ years of experience in AS400/iSeries Development
3+ years of experience in RPGLE and SQL development
