Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Finance PMO Analyst / Project Financial Analyst to support financial management and PMO activities across enterprise technology and business transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing project budgets, forecasts, actuals, accruals, variance analysis, financial reporting, and PMO governance. This role will partner closely with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial tracking and visibility across projects and portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track project and portfolio financials, including budgets, actuals, forecasts, accruals, and project spend.
- Perform Budget vs. Actual and Forecast vs. Actual variance analysis and provide explanations for financial variances.
- Develop and maintain monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Track resource costs, vendor spend, purchase orders, invoices, and project-related expenses.
- Support CapEx/OpEx classification and financial planning activities.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
- Partner with Project Managers and Finance teams to monitor overall project financial health.
- Identify potential budget risks, cost overruns, and forecast gaps and escalate issues appropriately.
- Maintain PMO financial documentation, reporting templates, and governance artifacts.
- Support project portfolio reviews, financial planning cycles, and management reporting.
- Assist with financial process improvements, reporting automation, and standardization.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
- Support vendor financial management and project invoicing activities.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to project and executive leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Finance PMO, Project Financial Management, Financial Analysis, Project Controls, or related areas.
- Strong experience with project budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, and variance analysis.
- Experience working within a PMO, IT, technology, or enterprise transformation environment.
- Strong understanding of project financial lifecycle and cost management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Experience creating financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Power BI or other reporting/dashboard tools.
- SAP, Oracle, Workday, or other ERP/financial systems.
- ServiceNow PPM, Planview, Clarity, MS Project, Jira, or similar project portfolio tools.
- Experience with CapEx/OpEx, accruals, resource forecasting, and vendor financial management.
- Experience supporting large-scale IT transformation or enterprise programs.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
