Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to join a team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise database and data integration platforms. This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and reliable data solutions that support business operations while adhering to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a technical leader who can design, develop, and enhance data-related technologies, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to team members. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of database and integration technologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance database and data integration solutions.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing platforms and processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of data management and integration technologies.
- Lead technical analyses and provide recommendations for complex business and technology challenges.
- Partner with developers, architects, and operational teams to implement scalable solutions.
- Monitor system health, performance, and compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies.
- Support full software development lifecycle activities, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production systems and services.
- Ensure security considerations are incorporated into all technical decisions and daily activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with scripting and automation technologies such as Python, Perl, Bash, KornShell (KSH), or JavaScript.
- Experience working with JSON, including creating, parsing, validating, and troubleshooting JSON payloads.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and firewall configurations.
- Experience supporting Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems, including log analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience securing sensitive and confidential data assets.
- Experience with full software development lifecycle processes and end-to-end testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of IT service management practices, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Commitment to security best practices and data protection principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with multiple relational database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
- Experience with enterprise data integration tools and platforms.
- Experience supporting Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience leading large-scale technical initiatives or innovation projects.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience implementing database encryption technologies.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of PCI or other information security and compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
