This role will be responsible for creating scalable and reliable deployment automation, including migrating legacy TFS XAML build/release definitions to Azure DevOps pipelines where needed. The ideal candidate will also bring basic Windows administration skills to support middleware installation and configuration on build and target servers.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps for custom .NET and Java applications.
• Assess existing TFS/XAML build definitions and lead migration to modern Azure DevOps YAML or classic pipelines.
• Standardize and optimize CI/CD processes to improve build reliability, deployment speed, and traceability.
• Configure and manage build agents, deployment groups, and pipeline integrations across development, test, and production environments.
• Support source control, branching, artifact management, automated builds, and release orchestration in ADO/TFS.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, deployment issues, and environment-related problems.
• Perform basic Windows server administration tasks to support pipeline operations and application deployments.
• Assist with middleware installation and configuration on build servers and target servers.
• Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and release management teams to ensure smooth software delivery.
• Document pipeline designs, migration approaches, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Promote CI/CD best practices, security controls, and reusable automation patterns across teams.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in CI/CD engineering, DevOps, or build/release engineering.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps for build and release pipeline creation and support.
• Working knowledge of TFS, including experience with legacy XAML build definitions.
• Experience supporting applications built in .NET and Java.
• Experience migrating or modernizing legacy build/release processes into Azure DevOps.
• Basic Windows administration skills, including server setup/support, services, permissions, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with middleware installation/configuration on Windows-based build or target servers.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation using PowerShell, batch scripting, or similar tools.
• Understanding of software build, packaging, deployment, and environment promotion processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
