Our group includes the Navigation, Guidance, and Control (NG&C or GN&C) subsystem, which flies the missile and glide body, and the embedded Flight Software (FSW) which hosts the NG&C algorithms and provides health, status, and sequencing for the entire system. Additionally, we develop and maintain the Flight Software testbeds (HILs or HWILs) which provide complete hardware integration testing with feedback and flight simulation to test the NG&C algorithms and flight software.
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full time Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery for the NG&C and flight software products. This is a crucial role combining a systems-thinking mindset with solid problem-solving and planning skills. If building cutting-edge hypersonic systems sounds exciting to you and you are looking to expand your systems engineering and leadership skills then we hope you will consider applying. Key responsibilities:
Support the CSP Flight Software development, integration, and test of deliverable flight software baseline.
Lead gap analyses, trades studies, and investigations as needed to support the capabilities development for our customers.
Develop sufficient knowledge of the NGC-SW system and the Integrated Release Manager role to represent them at program-level, decisional forums.
Foster relationships and manage forums to ensure the NGC-SW development aligns with current objectives and milestones.
Support Systems Engineering and Architects in decomposing the larger system solution into the CPS-FSW thread and requirements, including model-based system designs.
Work with integration and test organizations to ensure CPS-FSW is adequately tested at all levels of integration.
Support the IPT to prepare for and present at program reviews, including major design reviews, manufacturing reviews, test reviews & analysis, and post-test analysis
