Job Title: Business Analyst – Lab in the Loop (Foundation)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Lab in the Loop – Foundation initiative. This role will work closely with laboratory scientists, research teams, and IT stakeholders to define, document, and validate requirements for lab informatics and data-driven solutions in a biopharma environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with laboratory scientists and research stakeholders to understand:
  • Current lab workflows
  • Pain points
  • Future-state capabilities
• Conduct structured requirements elicitation:
  • Interviews
  • Workshops
  • Process walkthroughs
• Translate findings into clear and actionable business requirements

• Develop and maintain:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Process flows and use cases
  • Functional requirements and acceptance criteria
• Ensure documentation aligns with business and scientific needs

• Act as a liaison between:
  • Business users (scientists, researchers)
  • IT teams (data engineering, platform, architecture)
• Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams
• Participate in governance meetings and working sessions

• Validate proposed solutions with end users to ensure alignment with lab workflows
• Support UAT and ensure requirements are met
• Assist in change management and user adoption initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Experience working on data-driven or technology projects
• Strong experience in:
  • Requirements elicitation
  • Documentation and analysis
• Ability to translate scientific/business needs into structured requirements

• Experience working with:
  • Laboratory scientists or research teams
  • Lab informatics systems
• Background in:
  • Biopharma
  • Life Sciences
  • Scientific R&D environments

• Experience creating:
  • BRDs
  • Process flows
  • Use cases
• Knowledge of Gene Data Capture (preferred)

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills
• Ability to work across scientific, business, and IT teams
