About the Role
The Senior Platform Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise platform systems, with a focus on DNS, Active Directory, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
This role is responsible for setting technical direction, defining infrastructure standards, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and automation across the platform domain. The position requires deep expertise in enterprise identity systems and core infrastructure services, along with strong leadership in incident response and cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Architecture
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable platform systems across multiple teams
- Define infrastructure patterns, automation standards, and tooling strategies
- Ensure platform solutions meet scalability, reliability, and maintainability requirements
- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain platform quality
Core Infrastructure (DNS / Active Directory)
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure DNS architectures
- Manage AD-integrated DNS across hybrid and cloud environments
- Support and enhance Active Directory infrastructure including migrations and integrations
- Work with enterprise DDI platforms (e.g., Infoblox, Blue Cat)
Cloud & Hybrid Identity
- Support and lead Active Directory migration initiatives to Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Build and maintain hybrid identity environments across on-prem and cloud
- Integrate identity services across Azure/AWS environments
Automation & Delivery
- Design and build advanced CI/CD pipelines and delivery systems
- Develop infrastructure automation solutions for scalability and consistency
- Enable engineering teams through platform abstractions and tooling
Observability & Reliability
- Architect and implement observability platforms (logging, metrics, tracing)
- Define alerting strategies and monitoring frameworks
- Lead incident response for critical production issues
- Drive post-incident analysis and reliability improvements
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor engineers across experience levels
- Partner with engineering leadership on platform strategy and roadmap
- Collaborate across teams to drive platform adoption and best practices
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Master s degree is a plus
Experience
- 6 10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or platform engineering
- Proven experience leading infrastructure initiatives across teams
- Strong experience with automation and platform standardization
Technical Skills
Deep expertise in:
- Active Directory (architecture, GPOs, migrations)
- DNS (AD-integrated, hybrid environments)
- DHCP and enterprise DDI platforms
Experience with:
- AD migration tools (ADMT, Quest QMM)
- Windows Server OS
- Hybrid cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS a plus)
- Entra ID (Azure AD) migration and integration
Familiarity with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
- Container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
