Automation QA Engineer

Title: Automation QA Engineer

Location: Glendale, CA (4 day a week in office)

Job Type: 18 Months Contract with possible extension

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional QA automation experience.
• Testing Frameworks: Deep practical expertise with Cypress/Playwright (custom commands, API testing, test parallelization) and solid knowledge of Cypress/Playwright component testing.
• Programming: Strong proficiency in TypeScript for writing complex, reusable test code and helper functions.
• CI/CD & Tools: Proven experience configuring and maintaining testing stages in GitLab CI/CD (or comparable CI/CD tool).
• Concepts: Strong understanding of testing pyramids (Unit, Integration, E2E) and shift-left strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain a resilient and scalable suite of Cypress and Playwright e2e and component tests using advanced TypeScript patterns.
• Drive the integration and execution of the automated test suite within the GitLab CI/CD pipeline, managing test data and environments.
• Implement and advocate for modern testing strategies, including Visual Regression Testing and mocking/stubbing external dependencies for reliable tests.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish testing best practices and increase unit/integration test coverage at the development layer.
• Monitor test results and pipeline health, improving test execution time and reducing false positives.
• Design and manage test plans, and report on key quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect leakage).
• Optimize and update existing test coverage to leverage new emerging technologies (AI tools, standardizing test libraries)
