Role: Scrum Master
Location: PA/ NJ (Onsite)
Note : W2 Only
Must have working experience on Property and casualty insurance domain.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Organize and lead all Scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and kept within timeboxes.
Coaching and Mentoring
Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments or blockers that hinder the team's progress, protecting the team from outside interference and distractions.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between the technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with the overall program goals.
Assist the Product Owner with effective backlog management, helping ensure product backlog items are clear, concise, and ready for the next sprint.
Track and communicate Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts, KPIs) to monitor project health, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular updates to leadership.
Advocate for quality practices, ensuring the team adheres to the Definition of Done and focuses on delivering high-value, quality software increments that meet performance expectations.
Experience
Specific experience in the insurance industry, preferably within P&C (Property & Casualty) and with exposure to policy, billing, or claims systems
Must be familiar with handling BOP, WC, Commercial Auto and other commercial products
Must have experience with Claim processes within P&C insurance
Strong knowledge and experience working with Agile reports/Metrics.
Experience working with PO in backlog grooming/refinements.
Experience in participating in Program increment
Experience in Estimation and Story pointing.
Experience in Team Planning- Capacity/velocity
Experience working in a hybrid environment with both onshore and offshore team members.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe).
Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence).
General understanding of software development principles to effectively communicate with the development team and understand their challenges.
Preferred certifications
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFE
Any P&C insurance certification
