Summary:The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst enables one or many components of the end-to-end lifecycle of our analytics and/or interoperability products and services for business functions across the health system. This includes but is not limited to planning, development, testing, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of new or existing functionality.
This role supports analytics by fulfilling extracts and data requests using Epic analytics tools (Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer) as well as enterprise analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, under the guidance of senior team members. The analyst assists with building, testing, and maintaining reports, datasets, and extracts to support operational, quality, financial, regulatory, and approved third?party data sharing needs. Responsibilities include basic data validation, documentation of logic and definitions, and adherence to governance and security standards. The role emphasizes foundational skill development across Epic and modern analytics platforms through training and hands?on experience.
The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst also provides end-user technical enablement and support, which may include high-touch customer service, communications, and the creation of reusable knowledge assets such as documentation and training content. The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability is an individual contributor that works under supervision. .
Responsibilities:Healthcare Analytics & Interoperability - The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst supports analytics and/or interoperability products and services for business functions across the health system. They engage in technical support request fulfillment. The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst approaches each new opportunity or challenge with the mindset of providing scalable, reusable, reliable, redundant, and recoverable systems and operations. Data Governance stewardship process participation is expected. They develop and maintain clear, understandable documentation to describe program development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. They update system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports, and interfaces.
Communication and relationships - The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst supports departmental and organizational priorities in day-to-day work. They collaborate with team members to successfully complete
assigned tasks, share knowledge openly. They communicate in a manner that is clear, concise, and politically and culturally sensitive.

In addition to general analytics responsibilities, this role will:
- Develop a fundamental understanding of Epic analytics tools, including Caboodle, Clarity, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer, or demonstrate a strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Apply basic knowledge of healthcare data concepts (e.g., patients, encounters, providers, orders, diagnoses, procedures) to support reporting and analytics solutions.
- Support data extracts for internal use and approved third?party recipients, assisting with data validation, documentation, and adherence to established governance, privacy, and security standards.
- Contribute to custom analytics development using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including building and maintaining datasets, reports, and basic semantic models under guidance.
- Write, review, and optimize SQL queries to support Epic reporting, data extracts, and Power BI analytics initiatives, with mentoring from senior team members.

Professional Experience Requirements:
- If a Bachelor's Degree in other field, requires two (2) years of experience.
- If a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (i.e. Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Analytics, etc.), then no years of experience is required.
- If Master's Degree, then no experience is required.
- If current certification in analytics, requires one (1) year of experience
- If an Associate's Degree, requires four (4) years of experience.
- If High School Diploma, requires six (6) years of experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Basic Proficiency: You have a common knowledge or an understanding of the basic techniques or concepts associated with this competency
- Fundamental knowledge (basic proficiency) of relational databases
- Fundamental knowledge (basic proficiency) of SQL (for all positions except Research, Admin, and Interop)
- Understands the importance and has fundamental knowledge (basic proficiency) with leveraging existing reusable data sources for visualizations and analytics before creating their own. When creating new assets they have the ability to make it reusable, with help.
