Pay Rate: $65–$76/hour (depending on experience)

Overview

Russell Tobin is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support a leading retail organization in San Francisco. This role requires a strong program leader who can drive complex, large-scale technical initiatives from conception through delivery while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex technical programs from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Manage cross-functional teams and stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure successful program delivery
  • Drive program execution with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and promote agile best practices across teams
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams to support seamless integration and delivery
  • Provide clear and consistent status reporting to stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Oversee resource planning, forecasting, and allocation to meet program needs
  • Support vendor management and selection processes

 

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager (TPM) leading complex technical projects end-to-end
  • Strong track record of delivering large-scale programs successfully
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
  • Expertise in project planning, risk management, and resource coordination
  • Experience maintaining program forecasts and analyzing resource needs
  • Ability to drive process improvements across tools, workflows, and methodologies
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA and Smartsheet
  • Experience managing dependencies and resolving program impediments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail or consumer-facing industries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
