IT Advisor - Prior exp with City or state Government Must

Role Overview The IT Consultant / Advisor will provide strategic and advisory services to the City, supporting leadership in planning, evaluating, and executing IT initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic IT advisory services to City leadership and departments

Assess existing IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and governance practices

Recommend technology, process, and policy improvements

Support IT strategic planning, roadmaps, and modernization initiatives

Advise on best practices related to IT governance, security, and operations

Facilitate cross-department discussions to align technology with business objectives

Support development of business cases, recommendations, and executive briefings

Provide on-demand consulting support based on City needs

Required Experience

12 15+ years of IT consulting or advisory experience

Experience advising executive or senior leadership

Experience in municipal or public-sector environments preferred

Required Skills

IT strategy and planning

Governance and best practices

Enterprise systems understanding

Executive communication and facilitation

Preferred Certifications

ITIL, TOGAF, PMP, or relevant professional certifications
