Role: SAP Datasphere Analystics Architect
New York 4 days onsite every week The Role
As the SAP Analytics Architect, you are the technical authority for SAP data and analytics modernization across enterprise engagements. You carry deep heritage in SAP BW and a forward path into SAP Datasphere and Business Data Cloud, balancing architectural vision with hands-on execution while elevating the delivery quality of the teams around you.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Delivery: Define target-state platforms on Datasphere and Business Data Cloud; establish reference patterns for spaces, data products, and semantic models
- BW Modernization: Lead assessments and migrations from BW / BW4HANA to Datasphere and Databricks, mapping InfoProviders, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, ODP, and BEx logic to modern, governed equivalents.
- Data Modeling & Semantics: Build graphical and SQL views, analytic models, and the business semantic layer; carry calculations, hierarchies, and authorizations through to SAC consumption.
- Integration & Data Flows: Implement replication, transformation, and data flows; design Delta Sharing and Open SQL access; integrate with Databricks and hyperscaler targets.
- Governance & Security: Implement space design, data access controls, authorizations, and end-to-end lineage.
- Performance & Cost: Tune persistence, partitioning, and remote-vs-replicated tradeoffs; manage CU consumption and cost controls.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor consultants, lead design and model reviews, and shape the practice roadmap.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in SAP BW and analytics architecture, including 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity.
- BW mastery: InfoCubes, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, ODP, BEx, transformations and DTPs — in production.
- Datasphere expertise: spaces, Data Builder, Business Builder, analytic models, replication / transformation / data flows, and data access controls.
- Proven migration path: you started in BW, progressed through BW/4HANA, and have personally delivered Datasphere and BDC modernizations end-to-end.
- Modeling fluency: HANA modeling, advanced SQL, CDS views, and semantic-layer design for consumption.
- Integration awareness: Delta Sharing, Databricks and hyperscaler targets, and SAC / front-end consumption.
- Stakeholder management skills, with translating architecture into outcomes for technical and executive audiences.
- Business Data Cloud awareness — familiarity with BDC data products, formations, and partner GTM is a plus, not a prerequisite.
Ideal Candidate
An architect with a consulting or services background who started in SAP BW and carried that lineage forward into BW/4HANA and Datasphere. You are hands-on, entrepreneurial, and ready to own delivery outcomes while building practice capability alongside you.
What Success Looks Like
- Reusable, production-grade SAP analytics architectures that clients trust and reference.
- Modernization standards measurably elevated across the practice.
- Credible presence in the SAP partner ecosystem.
- A pipeline of reusable accelerators, assessment templates, and migration patterns.
