Developer III100% Onsite in Seattle, WADescription We are looking for a builder with a passion for designing solutions that accelerate our teams ability test and evaluate new experiences. As a Design Technologist you will use your front-end engineering and hardware expertise to build dynamic multi-device database-driven prototypes used in a lab setting. You will be part of a design team obsessed with understanding the needs of our customers and experimenting with new ideas in physical spaces. You will work with and support a testing team conducting ongoing experimentation.
Key responsibilities- Lead development of hardware and software prototypes for a confidential project within Worldwide Grocery Stores organization focusing on customer-facing innovations that merge physical and digital retail experiences
- Use GenAI tools to accelerate all work including prototype development inventory inbound processing database construction tester operations and video analysis
- Design and build dynamic prototypes that communicate with each other and demonstrate novel in-store digital experiences while ensuring technical feasibility and implementation quality
- Collaborate closely with UX Designers to translate complex requirements into working prototypes while ensuring seamless integration between physical and digital touch points
- Lead prototyping efforts in a lab environment including hardware/software integration user testing and technical feasibility analysis of proposed solutions
- Support testing operations by being on-site before and during testing events to help set up troubleshoot and conduct usability experiments
Basic qualifications- Available online portfolio
- Front end coding/front end capability 3+ years
- Be able to stitch together digital hardware
- Software experience 5 + years
- Experience developing visually polished engaging multi-user UX prototypes
- Coding samples in front end programming languages
- Deep knowledge of mobile prototyping using HTML/CSS/JS and Swift for iOS
- 3 years of front-end technologist engineer or UX prototyping experience
- Experience using GenAI tools like Claude Code Cline Codex or similar
- Experience collaborating with UX Product and technical partners
Preferred experience- Experience in physical real-world and digital hybrid interaction design
- Strong understanding of software architecture and system design
- Proficiency with real-time prototyping frameworks
- Experience prototyping with novel sensing and display technologies
- Degree specializing in Human Computer Interaction or Interaction Design

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr.
