Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior Application Engineer with a strong foundation in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and an interest in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), PCB design, simulation, and verification.
The Application Engineer will provide technical application support and engineering expertise for Siemens EDA solutions, working closely with customers and internal technical teams to understand engineering requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, implement workflows, and support EDA tool adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical application support for Siemens EDA products including PADS, Xpedition, HyperLynx, Valor, and PartQuest.
- Support customers with implementation and adoption of Siemens EDA solutions.
- Understand customer engineering requirements and recommend appropriate EDA tools and workflows.
- Develop, configure, and support engineering methodologies based on customer requirements.
- Assist with infrastructure setup and integration of EDA tools into customer environments.
- Support pilot projects, technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and tool implementations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and assist with debugging and methodology bring-up.
- Support PCB design, simulation, verification, and related electronic design activities.
- Conduct technical demonstrations, presentations, training, and product guidance.
- Work closely with engineering, technical support, and product teams to resolve customer issues.
- Provide technical leadership and support for assigned customer projects.
- Stay current with Siemens EDA products, technologies, and industry trends.
- Communicate customer feedback, technical findings, and product requirements to internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in relevant engineering, EDA, PCB design, or electronics environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of at least one Siemens EDA product such as PADS, Xpedition, HyperLynx, Valor, or PartQuest is preferred.
- Experience with Mentor Graphics products is also highly relevant.
- Knowledge of PCB design, schematic design, simulation, verification, signal integrity, power integrity, or electronics manufacturing.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and technical teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop expertise in Siemens EDA solutions.
Preferred / Plus Qualifications
- MSEE or advanced engineering degree.
- Experience with Signal Integrity (SI) or Power Integrity (PI).
- PCB layout and schematic design experience.
- Electronics manufacturing knowledge.
- Project management experience.
- Diagnosis-driven yield analysis experience.
- Experience with multiple Siemens EDA products.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
