Day-to-Day Tasks

The selected candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, coding, and testing of application code for the Child Support Application Team. Specific tasks include:

System Development: Writing application software, performing data analysis, managing data structures, and implementing database design.
Collaboration: Participating in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions to assist in Use Case analysis.
Technical Implementation: Interpreting Use Case requirements, seeking clarification from Business Analysts, and prototyping solutions within the existing ASSETS technology stack.
Expertise & Mentoring: Providing J2EE, JBoss, SOA web services, Oracle, and Unisys Mainframe (DTPRA) expertise and mentoring to state staff.
Documentation: Providing technical documentation and conducting demonstrations of work in progress to subject matter experts.
Innovation: Staying updated with market trends and suggesting new ideas to meet project needs.
Knowledge Transfer: Working with state staff daily to impart knowledge and maintaining source-code/application documentation.

Requested Qualifications

Candidates are evaluated based on the following specific experience:

60 Months: Writing Java software for N-tier Java applications (data display, system navigation, transactional processing, and data persistence).
60 Months: Developing with the Apache Struts framework in Java.
48 Months: EJB 3 development and transaction management in complex environments integrating J2EE with legacy mainframe environments.
48 Months: Implementing Software Design Patterns in a J2EE application to solve complex business problems.
48 Months: Developing SOAP-based web services using XML and JAXB in a J2EE environment.
48 Months: Development and use of Hibernate with an Oracle database.
48 Months: Using Apache Maven to build and manage project dependencies.
36 Months: Working with Spring Boot application framework and Frontend frameworks like Angular/NextJS/React.
24 Months: Creating Java JUnit tests to automate project testing.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
