V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring a Hardware Engineer Remote for our premier client Remote.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Skills & Technical Expectations Embedded systems background (C, C++, Assembly; Go is a plus). Understanding of:

• Hardware design
• PCB design & build
• System specification
• Full lifecycle: ideation prototyping production

Ideal unicorn candidate would:

• Code in embedded languages
• Design PCBs
• Build and spec hardware systems
• Integrate with software & computer vision components
• Realistically, candidates may not have every skill the priority is embedded + hardware competence.

Hardware Engineer Embedded Systems & Hardware Context

• System uses a sensor on the axle to measure RPMs and determine when to clear a data buffer.
• This requires an embedded system capable of hardware?level decisions.
• Ideal candidates have embedded systems hardware experience specifically within machine vision / computer vision environments.
• Operational Challenges Requiring Hardware Support

Need to send signals for:

• Additional lighting based on conditions.
• Cleaning mechanisms for cameras.

Camera setup includes:

• A large enclosure with a protective glass plate in front of the lens.
• Glass becomes heavily coated with dirt, dust, and grime.

Current cleaning attempts:

• High powered sprayers have been tried.
• Need someone who can create an automated washing/cleaning system, e.g.:
• Spray every hour
• Hardware triggered cleaning cycles
• Cameras mounted at very high elevations (e.g., 200?foot poles) ? require automated maintenance systems to avoid manual climbing.

WHAT YOULL DO:

Job Responsibilities:

• Hardware Engineer will be responsible for developing and integrating hardware systems that support machine vision environments. The role involves designing systems capable of making hardware-level decisions, particularly for automated lighting and cleaning mechanisms for high-elevation camera setups.
• Strong background in embedded systems, hardware design, and the ability to handle extreme environmental conditions.
