Senior AI Engineer (GenAI + Data Platform - AWS)

Role: Senior AI Engineer (GenAI + Data Platform – AWS)

Location: Irvine, CA

2-3 days / week in the client’s Irvine office, 1 day in their downtown LA office, 1 day remote.

Customer Notes:

More than a traditional AI engineer or someone experimenting with GenAI technologies, we are looking for a highly independent senior practitioner who has successfully designed, delivered, and operationalized AI solutions in production and can help accelerate our AI transformation efforts.

The ideal candidate would:

•         Have hands-on experience designing and delivering AI and agentic solutions in production environments.

•         Bring practical lessons learned from real-world AI implementations.

•         Have experience building agentic workflows, orchestration patterns, and multi-step reasoning systems.

•         Understand evaluation frameworks, observability, reliability, and operationalization of AI solutions.

•         Be comfortable working in ambiguity and driving initiatives with minimal oversight.

•         Demonstrate strong ownership, execution, and stakeholder management skills.

•         Partner effectively with technical leads to shape solutions while also driving delivery.

•         Translate business problems into AI-enabled capabilities and measurable outcomes.

•         Experience in content, marketing, publishing, knowledge management, or document-centric workflows would be a significant plus.

·       For each candidate, it would be helpful to understand:

•         The most relevant production AI or agent-based solution they personally delivered.

•         Their specific role and level of ownership.

•         The business outcomes achieved.

•         Their experience with agentic architectures and orchestration platforms.

•         Examples where they influenced stakeholders, led teams, or drove delivery in ambiguous environments.

•         Skill 1 – Generative AI / LLM (RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering)

•         Skill 2 – AWS Cloud (OpenSearch, Neptune, DynamoDB, ElastiCache/Redis)

•         Skill 3 – Vector Search & Retrieval Systems (OpenSearch / vector DB)

•         Skill 4 – Graph Databases (Amazon Neptune, knowledge graphs)

•         Skill 5 – LLM Frameworks (LangChain / LlamaIndex)

•         Skill 6 – Agentic AI Frameworks (LangGraph / AutoGen / CrewAI)

•         Skill 7 – Databricks & Apache Spark (data pipelines, embedding pipelines)

•         Skill 8 – Backend/API Development (Python, scalable APIs, microservices)

Domain Experience (If any) –

•         AI/ML Platform Engineering

•         Generative AI / LLM Applications

•         Data Platform / Big Data Engineering

Must Have Certifications –

•         AWS Certification (Preferred):

•         AWS Certified Solutions Architect OR
