Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong aviation industry knowledge to lead enterprise data modeling, Common Data Model (CDM), and integration initiatives across airline operational systems.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL, AWS cloud services, aviation business processes, and familiarity with IATA data standards/models. This role will be responsible for designing scalable data architecture, integrating multiple operational platforms, and enabling trusted data for reporting, analytics, and downstream systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for aviation business domains.
  • Lead development and enhancement of Common Data Models (CDM) across operational systems.
  • Define entities, attributes, relationships, hierarchies, and business rules.
  • Perform source-to-target mapping across multiple airline/operations platforms.
  • Work with PostgreSQL databases for schema design, optimization, and data structures.
  • Support AWS-based data architecture and cloud integration patterns.
  • Align data models with IATA standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with business SMEs, operations teams, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Support integration of systems such as flight operations, crew, scheduling, maintenance, and messaging platforms.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, scalability, and documentation standards.
  • Enable reporting, analytics, and downstream consumption needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Modeling.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience designing data solutions on AWS.
  • Prior experience in aviation / airline / airport / travel technology domain.
  • Strong understanding of IATA standards or aviation industry data models.
  • Expertise in source-to-target mapping and enterprise integration.
  • Strong SQL and performance tuning skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with flight operations systems, scheduling, crew, maintenance, or airport systems.
  • Experience with APIs, messaging systems, or event-driven architecture.
  • Knowledge of data governance / master data management.
    Experience with MuleSoft or similar integration platforms would be an asset.
  • Experience with BI / analytics platforms.
