Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation QA Engineer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong hands-on Java programming and test automation experience to join our client's Quality Engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering mindset and experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing. Candidates should be comfortable writing automation code in Java and working closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams in an Agile environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks using Java.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Build automation using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cucumber, TestNG and/or JUnit.
• Perform API automation testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Create reusable and maintainable automation components and libraries.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate backend data using SQL/Oracle and perform database testing.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Work closely with developers and product teams to identify defects and perform root-cause analysis.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Develop comprehensive test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Identify opportunities to increase automation coverage and reduce manual testing.
• Maintain test scripts, automation frameworks, test data, and execution reports.
• Collaborate with distributed/onshore/offshore engineering and QA teams.
• Support continuous testing and shift-left quality engineering practices.
