Level IV / Lead Central Office (CO) Installation Technician to support large-scale optical network deployments across the United States. This role is ideal for experienced installers with deep experience in
DWDM optical equipment, central office environments, and infrastructure installation who are open to extensive national travel.
Technicians in this role will support the deployment of long-haul, multi-rail optical transport networks for major OEMs, carriers, and hyperscale clients. This is a long-term opportunity for candidates looking to align with a stable, industry-leading installation organization and work on critical telecom infrastructure projects.

Required Experience & Qualifications- Level IV or Lead Central Office Installation experience
- GR-1275 standards training
- Proven ability to install equipment in carrier central offices
- Strong experience with:
- Ladder rack installation
- Fiber, fiber trough, and cabling infrastructure
- Hands-on experience installing DWDM optical equipment, including:
- Ciena and/or Infinera platforms
- Fiber Optic Characterization (FOC) experience
- Strong understanding of long-haul optical routes and CO environments
Nice-to-Have Skills- Experience with OEM platforms including:
- Familiarity with systems such as:
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the installation of DWDM optical transport systems in CO environments
- Install infrastructure including:
- Cabinets and bays
- Ladder rack and fiber trough
- Fiber and structured cabling
- Support fiber testing and characterization (training provided as needed)
- Participate in projects that may advance into test and turn-up responsibilities
- Follow detailed installation plans, engineering documentation, and standards
- Maintain high standards for fiber handling, cleaning, and scoping
- Work under a designated lead for day-to-day direction while providing technical leadership on site
Training & Development- Initial equipment and technical training provided at a centralized warehouse location
- Opportunities to receive OEM-specific certifications for DWDM equipment
- Continued advancement for high-performing Level IV technicians into expanded testing and commissioning responsibilities
Travel Requirements- 100% nationwide travel required
- Projects are typically structured as multi-week rotations
- Occasional weekend work may be required depending on project timelines
- Day shift work with occasional maintenance window or cutover support
Work Environment- Central Office facilities
- ILA huts and similar telecom infrastructure sites
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pflugerville, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
