Are you an Project Engineer looking for a thrilling new opportunity? Our leading construction company is seeking a dedicated, organized and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Project Engineer. This role is a unique opportunity to oversee and manage construction projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. You will be in charge of coordinating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors, ensuring all legal requirements, building and safety codes, and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on a daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Work closely with governmental agencies on permits and site inspections.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety codes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages.
- Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Proven experience in contract management and quality control.
- Strong leadership and human resources management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
