Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA – Database Migration & DMS Specialist with 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, migration, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, GoldenGate, and Oracle Database Migration Service (DMS), along with experience supporting large-scale production environments and cloud migration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle databases across production and non-production environments.
- Perform Oracle database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Manage and support Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM environments.
- Plan and execute Oracle database migration projects using Oracle Database Migration Service (DMS), GoldenGate, Data Pump, RMAN, and other migration technologies.
- Assess source and target database environments and develop appropriate migration strategies.
- Create detailed migration plans, execution procedures, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and validation procedures.
- Perform migration testing and validate data integrity, consistency, and application connectivity.
- Troubleshoot migration-related issues and resolve database performance, replication, and connectivity problems.
- Support minimal-downtime and zero/minimal-downtime database migration initiatives.
- Implement and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions to support business continuity.
- Support Oracle databases hosted on OCI, Exadata, ExaCC, and other cloud environments.
- Automate database administration and migration activities using Shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, and other automation tools.
- Develop and maintain migration runbooks, operational procedures, technical documentation, and support guidelines.
- Provide production support for business-critical Oracle database environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience.
- Strong experience with Oracle database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Oracle RAC
- ASM
- Data Guard
- RMAN
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- SQL/PLSQL and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database Migration Service (DMS) and Oracle database migration projects.
- Strong experience with database migration tools such as Oracle GoldenGate, Data Pump, RMAN, and related technologies.
- Experience planning and executing database migrations with minimal downtime.
- Experience with OCI, Oracle Exadata, Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), or other cloud database environments.
- Strong understanding of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, HADR, and business continuity concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, and database automation.
- Experience supporting critical production database environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification.
- Experience with cross-platform Oracle database migrations.
- Experience with Oracle database modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience with AWS RDS for Oracle or Oracle workloads on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience implementing GoldenGate-based replication and zero/minimal-downtime migration strategies.
- Strong understanding of Oracle cloud architecture and migration best practices.
