Summary

The Stress Testing Team is responsible for delivering Stress testing related solutions to Citi's risk & finance organization which manages Citi's exposure to financial institutions, governments and corporates that trade with Citi. The team engineers, builds and maintains software used to compute metrics that help mitigate Citi's exposure to counterparty default & help meet regulations like CECL. GSST, IFRS9, CCAR.

Who you are:
  • We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep expertise in data engineering, business intelligence, and cloud technologies.

    You will play a critical role in building scalable data pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What will you do?

  • Design and implement scalable data architectures, including data lakes and data warehouses (e.g., Medallion architecture - Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  • Develop and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as SSIS, Apache Airflow, and Data form
  • Build and optimize high-performance data models and database objects (stored procedures, views, tables)
  • Process and manage large-scale datasets (1TB+ and billions of rows) with high reliability and accuracy
  • Develop and maintain BI dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and other reporting tools
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights and analytics solutions
  • Integrate data from multiple systems (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, APIs, Big Data, Hadoop etc.)
  • Optimize SQL queries and data pipelines for performance and scalability
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and system uptime
  • Lead cross-functional teams and drive data strategy, roadmap, and best practices
  • Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across teams

Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or BI development

Strong expertise in:
  • SQL / T-SQL
  • Python
  • ETL tools (SSIS, Airflow, Dataform, Azure Data Factory)
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with data warehousing and data modeling
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
  • Data Visualization & Storytelling
  • Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Knowledge of BigQuery, Databricks, Spark
  • Experience in fraud analytics or compliance reporting
  • Exposure to machine learning / AI concepts
  • Azure certifications (Data Engineer, AI Fundamentals, etc.)

Education
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field or related experience.
